About

Hello! My name is Joel Housman. I’m a geek & web designer/webmaster. I work for the U.S. Green Building Council as their Web Content Specialist. You’ve either accidentally or intentionally found my blog. You’ll find mainly technology related news & topics here, along with some politics, and maybe the occasionally internets meme that is currently flowing through the tubes. I maintain a web presence in a lot of different places. Of course there is this blog, however, I also can be found on Twitter, Jaiku, Pownce, Tumblr, Digg, Flickr, Youtube, Delicious, Facebook, GoodReads, and Fark. If you want to contact me you may do so via email by using the address joelhousman ( at ) gmail ( dot ) com. If it is AIM you prefer, then try tuzy2k. If its GoogleTalk then use joelhousman ( at ) gmail (dot ) com. Honestly email is the best method to reach me as it will hit my blackberry, which never leaves my side.

As for me? I proudly consider myself to be a geek, first and foremost. Secondly you might say I was a gamer, a budding photographer, an amateur poker player (hold’em of course). All who know me agree that I’m now, as they might say, an Apple fanboy. I like to think of it as a Mac evangelist…but thats just me.

I currently live in Alexandria, Virginia in Old Town which is very close to the Potomac River, just outside of Washington DC. I work in DC in the business district, just a few blocks from the Whitehouse. I grew up in south western Virginia just south of Roanoke, Virginia in a little town called Rocky Mount. Recently my family has moved to a nearby lake, not far from where I grew up oddly enough, on a part of the farm where my father grew up. On some weekends you’ll find me back home playing on the lake rather than in or near the city.
